It stands out for its rich iconography and gold decoration. It is unique in its representation of mythological animals and wild men.

Commissioned by the Dolphin of France at the end of the 15th century. and created by the workshop of Jean and Jacqueline de Montluçon, this manuscript reflects the opulence of the heir to the French throne.

Preserved in the library of Grenoble since the 11th century, is invaluable for the study of medieval art and history, underlining the importance of the Dauphin in French culture.

An artistic jewel

  • This exceptional manuscript, known as Ms. 1011 (Livre d'heures), it is kept in the Bibliothèque municipale de Grenoble.
  • Originally from Bourges, was created at end of the 15th century, The compact size of 12,5 x 18,5 cm and its length of 64 pages, which is equivalent to 128 pages, all of them beautifully illuminated.
  • It is entirely written in Latin .
  • It is accompanied by a full color study book made by Fernando Villaseñor Sebastián.
